Happy Nevada Day - Everyday!

This weekend is Nevada Day.  If you're a traditionalist, you will celebrate on Sunday, which is the anniversary of Nevada's admission to the union.   In 1999, however, the Nevada legislature made the unfortunate and ahistoric decision to move the celebration to the last Friday of October.  NRS 236.015(1).   As a state holiday, Nevada government offices are closed today.

If you want to get into the spirit of Nevada Day, I suggest that you list to Richard Elloyan's album - Come Back Home - Songs of the Silver State which features the song "Everyday's Nevada Day to Me".   Mr. Elloyan is a songrwiter, singer and cowboy poet.  He was the 2018 International Western Music Association Songwriter of the Year.  This year, he has been nominated for three awards by the IWMA -  Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year ("Once Upon a Desert Night"), and Album of the Year ("Once Upon a Desert Night").
